Laurie and Maggie Horton work with found materials and primary colours. They assemble materials – usually driftwood – into painted works of fancy – people, animals and often the human condition. They are often seen at the Lunenburg Folk Art Festival. Laurie also paints sea-scapes from time to time. One is shown below.

Walter Cross. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Brooklyn, Queens County, Nova Scotia.  Active 20th century.

Walter Cross was a decoy maker. He also made carvings of birds seen in his corner of Nova Scotia. His birds were impressionistic and very colorful.

Reuben George made carvings of small birds. Usually in paint. He showed his work at the Folk Art Festival in Lunenburg.

Barbara Furhovde is a naive painter. She paints scenes of her life and childhood on the fishing boats and on the land where she grew up near Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
