Charles-Edouard Gaudreault

Born: 1912  |  Died: 1989

Charles-Edouard Gaudreault. Sculptor. Les Eboulements, Quebec. Active mid-20th century.

There were two brothers, Charles and Eddy. They were carvers of birds, People and Farm animals as well as  religious works. They sometimes worked alone and more often worked together. An interesting note: Andre Bieler, an academy artist worked and mounted  a group of Roosters carved by Charles Gaudreault and painted by his son. (See the book: Andre Bieler; An Artist’s Life.) Charles-Edouard was mentioned in Les Patenteux du Quebec. There is an excellent photo of the two brothers at the link below (The Encyclopedia of French Cultural Heritage).
