Georges Bedard. Painter. Sculptor. Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec. Active mid-20th century.

Georges Bedard was both a painter and sculptor. He used ‘as found’ materials in all his works, finding his ‘mediums’ in the forest and along the roads. He preferred to recycle things in his creations.

Louis Desmarais. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Saint-Francois-du-Lac, Quebec. Active mid-20th century.

His house was his oeuvre. Completely decorated with ‘tramp art’ style shapes and carvings.   It was a sight to see. He worked with ‘as found’ materials and objects. Louis Desmarais was first mentioned in Les Patenteux du Quebec in the 1970’s.

Henri Duhamel. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Saint-Roche, Quebec. Active mid 20th century.

Henri Duhamel made  naive carvings of animals and flowers using ‘as found’ materials including concrete and nails. Some of his work was made for his yard, He was first mentioned in Les Patenteux du Quebec.

Joseph Lajoie. Sculptor. Wood carver.  Sainte-Gabriel-de-Brandon. Quebec. Active mid-20th century.

Joseph Lajoie was a sculptor of painted wood carvings, including whirligigs and bird trees. Active mid 20th century. There is a whirligig by him in the Canadian history Museum in Hull, Quebec. (See the link below.)

Adelard Blouin. Sculptor. Wood carver. Montreal, Quebec. Active mid 20th century.

Adelard Blouin was a maker of sculptures and automatons using  ‘as found’ materials and colors. He made model railroad engines and airplanes and he often used old sewing machine motors to power his automatons. He was first published in “Les Patenteux du Quebec”.
