Laurie and Maggie Horton work with found materials and primary colours. They assemble materials – usually driftwood – into painted works of fancy – people, animals and often the human condition. They are often seen at the Lunenburg Folk Art Festival. Laurie also paints sea-scapes from time to time. One is shown below.

Barry Hastings is a primitive artist. He make carvings of the human condition – sometimes political often playing. He paints and signs his work usually with a date.

Walter Cross. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Brooklyn, Queens County, Nova Scotia.  Active 20th century.

Walter Cross was a decoy maker. He also made carvings of birds seen in his corner of Nova Scotia. His birds were impressionistic and very colorful.
