Wilf Saulnier makes carvings of Birds, People and animals using ‘as found’ materials. He has been carving for most of his life.

Jim Smith. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Nova Scotia. Active 1990’s – .
Jim Smith carves the animals found painted by the early artists on the caves of France and Spain some 30,000 years ago. His interpretations are as wonderfully elegant, as the originals on the walls of the caves. An example of the Rhinoceros from the Chauvet Cave is shown here.

Katrina Roefs. Painter. Berwick, Nova Scotia. Active early 21st century.
Katrina Roefs has been paining since eary in the century. She showed at the Lunenburg Festival for the first time in 2009. Her pictures are string and full of color. Using primary colors she paints scenes of her Nova Scotia surroundings. Her perspective is unusual and rare.

Bill Roach. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Cheticamp, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Active 1980’s – .
Bill Roach is an Acadian from Cape Breton Island. He makes painted sculptures that are full of humor and wit. Ans, above all, color, always primary color. (His work is on display at a gallery and tea shop near Cheticamp.) He also takes part in the annual Lunenburg Folk Art Festival. His work is always fanciful and always reflects the sea around Cape Breton Island.

Stanley Rector. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Southampton, Nova Scotia. Active 1980’s – .
Stanley Rector is the son of Nova Scotia folk artist Thomas Rector. (See the Separate Article.) He carves people in situations and always in paint. He shows his work at the annual Lunenburg Folk Art Festival.
