Robert Goyer

Robert ‘Bob’ Goyer. Sculptor. Wood carver. Painter. Dalesville, (Brownsburg) Quebec. Active mid to late 20th century.

Bob Goyer made ornamental carvings (flowers etc) in Pine as well as relief carvings, animals, birds and people. He lived in Dalesville, Quebec and was active from the 1960’s until the end of the century. He signed his work; often with the date. In the 1950’s he made a series of paintings of a mine in rural Quebec that were acquired by the McCord Museum in Montreal. His early work was rarely painted but always signed. He is cited, with one of his works (Pl. 122), in ‘From The Heart’ 1983*.

Rejean Petrin

Born: 1955

Rejean Petrin. Sculptor. Wood carver. Drummondville, Quebec. Active 2009 -.

Rejean Petrin carves in Pine or Basswood and mixed media; making very impressionistic carvings of a variety of subjects; usually with great humour and wit. His palette is primary colours. He signs, dates and numbers his work on the base.

Born: Active mid 20th century.

W. Banks. Sculptor. Wood carver. Mount Hanley, Nova Scotia. Active mid 20th century.

W. Banks made carvings of birds, often Seagulls, for sale to travelers and tourists to Nova Scotia. His work could be found for sale in galleries and along the shore roads. He lived and worked in Mount Hanley, N.S. on the shore of the Bay of Fundy. He signed his work with a stamp on the base.
