Damien Roy made primitive painted carvings of animals, birds and relief carved farm scenes. He usually signed his work on the back or the lower front corner. with a chisel and sometimes marked the ‘Quebec’ on the reverse. His carvings were strong, primitive and coloured with ‘as found’ colours. Often water-colors. An example is shown.
