Alfred Deschenes. Painter. Charlevoix County, Quebec. Active mid 20th century.
Alfred Deschene was a member of the Charlevoix Primitives; a group of self-taught artists who lived and worked in Charlevoix County from the 1930’s to the 1950’s. He painted figures in the landscapes of Charlevoix; particularly children.
Deschenes and the other members of the Group were featured in the film by Jean Palardy: ‘primitive Painters of Charlevoix’.
