Adelard Turgeon. Sculptor. Saint-Anselme, Chaudiere-Appelaches, Quebec. Active first half of the 20th century.
Adelard Turgeon made painted wood carvings of the people around him. He carved his neighbours at play and at work using Pine wood and bright ‘as found’ colours. Turgeon’s work was full of humour and imagination; they were delicate and well painted in ‘as found’ oil paint. He did not sign his work.
