G. S. Bouchard was a naive woodcarver and known for a carving of a bust of a woman. He is cited in the records of the Canadian Centre for Folklore Studies.

Marcelle Bouchard

Marcelle Bouchard. Painter. Montreal, Quebec. Active mid 20th century- .

Marcelle Bouchard is a naive painter. She paints social scenes from her childhood memories and stories. Marcelle Bouchard  is cited in Boulizon’s book as a painter of l’art naif’ in the tradition of Rousseau.  Two scenes are illustrated.

Charles Bouchard

Charles Bouchard. Sculptor. Woodcarver. St-Thomas-de-Caxton. Quebec. Active 20th century.

Charles Bouchard was mentioned in Les Patenteux as having made architectural models of buildings. He describes in the interview as building a ‘skyscraper’ modeled on the ‘Menier’ residence on Anticosti Island; a building that he visited and was impressed by.

Philias Bouchard

Born: 1885

Philias Bouchard. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Saint-Simeon, Charlevoix County, Quebec. Active early 20th century.

Philias Bouchard was a cabinet maker. He decorated his furniture with carved decorations and was known to have made carvings of animals. he was cited in the Journal ‘Canadian Antiques and Art Review (1979-1980.) (He is listed in the census of 1901 as born in 1885.)

Anne-Marie Bost

Born: 1943

Anne-Marie Bost. Painter. Matapedia Valley, Quebec. Active 1970’s – .

Anne-Marie Bost is a naive artist. She makes paintings from her imagination in the tradition of Rousseau. She was one of the authors of “Ces Paintres de Quebec et de l’Acadie”.

Her work is included in the collections of the Paris (France) “Musee de l’Art Naif”, the Sherbrooke (Quebec) Museum of Art and the Canadian Bank of Works of Art.
