Gerald Monroe. His mark is seen on an attractive and well made painted miniature carving of a Merganser Duck. From the 1930’s. My understanding is that he was from P. E.I. but his details are not confirmed. The carving is signed: Red Breasted Merganser. Gerald Monroe. Photos are shown below.

Cyril Bulger

Cyril Bulger. Sculptor. Wood carver. Foxley River, Prince Edward Island. Active late 20th century.

Cyril Bulger is a naive artist.He is a decoy carver and he also carves sea gulls and decorative carvings of other water fowl. He signs his work.

Ben Coughlin

Ben Coughlin. Sculptor. Freeland, Prince Edward Island. Active mid to late 20th Century.

A maker of Decoys; he also carved and painted Seagulls and Crows.

William ‘Roy’ Mill

Born: 1901  |  Died: 1982

William ‘Roy’ Mill. Sculptor. Kensington, Prince Edward Island. Active mid 20th century.

He was a carver of birds (ornamental) and working decoys. Seen at auction: a miniature Canada Goose with a paper label on the base listing the maker and the year (1948).
