C. L. Brewin made painted carvings of animals, often in situations. He signed and dated his work and usually numbered them.

John Hummel

Born: 1892  |  Died: 1970

John Hummel. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Maryhill, Ontario. Active mid 20th century.

John Hummel made painted carvings of animals and birds. He was known for his carvings of bird trees. He was collected and shown in the Canadian Museum of Civilization show ‘This Other Eden’. (A link to the Museum site is given below.) John Hummel is also cited in “A Splendid Harvest” 1981.*
