Ship Model of The Bounty Circa 1930 Donald Carmicheal. Renfrew, Ontario

A very fine model of HMS Bounty under glass. Donald Carmicheal lived in Renfrew Ontario and was a barber as well as a maker of  model ships. This is one of several found in the Renfrew area. The case is Black Walnut and is in fine original condition.

David Stephens, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

A fine early work by Mr. Stephens.  An oil on panel, it is signed and dated 1988 in the lower right and on the reverse. It measures 7 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches site and 10 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches over all. It is mounted in a frame painted by the artist. Mr. Stephens is widely admired and  collected. A “Folk-Pop Pioneer”; David Stephens’ work is seminal and much sought after. He is a sculptor and a painter and works often with ‘as found’ materials and objects; from cars to seashells and marbles.

The Steeplechaser. An Anonymous Quebec Wood Carving. Circa 1900.

Originally made for a racing game aboard the Canada Steam Ship Saguenay cruise ships (Montreal, Quebec City, Murray Bay). This Steeplechaser, Number 14, was one of a set that raced on a track aboard the cruise ships to entertain the passengers on the St. Lawrence – Saguenay cruises.

Found in Quebec; this carving dates from the early part of the last century. It is full of energy and movement and retains its original colour. It is carved in a hard wood (Birch) by an anonymous artist; probably from the Quebec City – Charlevoix County area. About 15 inches long.           SOLD

Primitive Folk Art Diorama of a Golden Eye drake in the Rushes Unknown Artist from Western Ontario C. 1900

A wonderful primitive diorama of a golden eye drake in a marsh setting. Made by an unknown artist in western Ontario in the late 19th or early 20th century. The drake is standing in a marsh setting with carved bulrushes. Beautifully carved and full of detail; the carving has all of its original color with the old dry crackled paint. The artist has attached an etched mirrored glass label with the name golden eye drake. The drake carving has glass eyes.The bulrushes are carved wood with painted metal leaves. All original and in excellent condition.          $400.00

Leo Fournier (1924-2007) Laprairie, Quebec.

A fine Bird by Leo Fournier. Carved in a hardwood (Birch) and given a ‘Bronzed’ finish; it was made for an exhibition at the Museum of Civilization in 1984. It is signed and dated with a chisel on the base. It measures about 18 inches tall. A rare studio piece by Mr. Fournier, full of his humour and charm.        $750.00
