Ornamental Hooked Rug- Signed G E T in the lower right. Designed and hooked by Mr. Tremblay, it measures about 16 1/2 by 19 3/4 inches over all and 11 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches sight. A very fine image of a Quebec stone house circa 1955.
A painter and a rug hooker, Mr. Tremblay (1902-1987) established a school of rug hooking in the mid-1930’s at Pointe-au-Pic, Quebec in Charlevoix County. 275.00
Hooked Mat by G. E. Tremblay
Born in Maxville, Ontario; Arthur Sauve began carving in the 1920’s. He carved picture frames, shelves, musical instruments, whirligigs, animals and people. He has been extensively collected and cited by, among others, Blake Mckendry* and Russell Harper*. Pictured is a Crucifix by M. Sauve. Signed and dated (1957) on the reverse, it is a remarkable expression.
It is about 18 inches tall and made of Pine and finished with ‘as found’ oil paint and varnish.
A very fine fully rigged model of HMS Bounty under glass. Mr. Carmicheal lived in Renfrew Ontario and was a barber as well as a maker of model ships. The case is Black Walnut and is in fine original condition.

Blue sky and Blue Water. Oil on panel. Measuring 7 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches site and 10 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches over all. In a hand painted frame done by the artist. Signed and dated 1988 in the lower right and on the reverse.
Called a “Folk-Pop Pioneer;” Mr Stephens’ work is in many museum, corporate and private collections. He lives in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
