Treffle Picard. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Quebec. Active 1940 – 1980’s.
Treffle Picard started wood carving at L’ecole-de-Sculpture under Andre and J.J. Bourgault in 1940 when they opened their school in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec. He maintained a studio in Saint-Stanislas, Quebec for many years. His early work was traditional painted carvings of Quebec people. In the later 1950’s his work was unpainted and he also made carvings of animals as well as larger studio works of people.
He attended the Salon des Metier d’Art in Montreal throughout the 1970’s.
