Roch Aubin. Sculptor. Wood carver. New Carlisle, Quebec. Active mid-20th century.
After working for many years in Montreal he moved to New Carlisle on the Baie-des-Chaleures on the Gaspe shore where his wife was born. He began making sculptures and installations, with the help of his wife, in his yard from ‘as found’ materials, especially driftwood, for his yard. His work was first recorded in the book: “Les Patenteux du Quebec” * in the 1970’s. There are images in this book of his work.
