Damien Roy made primitive painted carvings of animals, birds and relief carved farm scenes. He usually signed his work on the back or the lower front corner. with a chisel and sometimes marked the ‘Quebec’ on the reverse. His carvings were strong, primitive and coloured with ‘as found’ colours. Often water-colors. An example is shown.

Joseph Bertrend was a carver and painter of birds and animals.
Jeanette Bourgault. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec. Active mid 2oth century.
Jeanette Bourgault was the daughter of Medard Bourgault. Signed works by her are rare. My understanding is that she was active in her youth in the various studios of her more famous father and uncles Andre and Jean-Julien. An example of her work is shown here.
