G. H. Sculptor. Wood carver. Quebec. (Location Unknown.) Active mid-20th century.
G. H. is the mark found on painted carvings of Parrots. The carvings are naive and appear to have plastic eyes. They are painted in ‘as found colours’ and the initials ‘G. H.’ are primitively painted on with the word ‘PERROKUET’ painted on the base of one of the carvings. The carvings are done in the style and manner of Felicien Levesque as is the writing. The carvings date from about the 1960’s.Some images are below. (The initials are confusing. The style and manner of the carving seem to point to another artist.)
