Clement Fournier. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Saint-Sophie-de-Levrard, Quebec. Active late 20th century.
Clement Fournier made carvings that “ re-created daily rural life in the early 20th century, an era not so distant, when the activities of man and horse were intimately linked”. His carvings were of farm implements; ploughs and wagons, everything that was horse-drawn as well as scenes from daily life. His carvings were rarely painted and only occasionally signed. Some fifty of his works are on permanent display in the Church at Saint-Sophie-de-Levrard.
