Alex Campbell made primitive brightly painted wood carvings of people. Active 1950’s-1960’s. Often signed his carvings on the front of the base with his name ‘Alex’ using a chisel. His figures were usually smaller in size; about 5 or 6 inches tall. His carvings were always full of expression and brightly painted.
