Alain Anctil-Tremblay. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec. (Active 2018 – .)
After retiring from a career as an educator and a writer Alain Anctil-Tremblay became a specialist in restoring antique furniture. That part of his career – which helped him build an important collection of Quebec furniture – led him to begin carving the animals and birds of Quebec. He prefers making smaller sized carvings -so far – and all of his works are painted and signed. His delightful carvings are very fine and delicately made and beautifully coloured. An example of a Mother Pig with her piglets is shown below. (I will be adding more examples.)

Bonjour je suis Alain Anctil-Tremblay de Baie St-Paul. Je suis originaire( le 3 juin 1957)de Riviere-Ouelle,
mais j’ai demeuré pendant 30 ans à Les Éboulements, comté Charlevoix.
Je suis éducateur spécialisé et j’ai travaillé auprès de personnes handicapés intellectuellement.
Je suis retraité depuis 2012.
J’ai toujours travaillé en généalogie et j’ai publié 40 volmes sur l’histoire et la gënéalogie de toutes les municipalités de Charlevoix. Depuis 2010 j’ai obtenu le titre de maître généalogiste agréé.
J’ai toujours fait du décapage et dela restauration de meubles antiques. J’en possède une importante collection.
J’ai commencé à faire de la sculpture il y a deux ans. A ce jour j’ai une cinquantaine de piéces de réalisées,
toutes signées. Un nouveau loisir. Je fais surtout des animaux.
