In his words:
Geoffroy expresses himself as much by the bas-relief as by the round hump; by modeling and assembly
than by cutting direct. He is as comfortable with wood as he is with clay or synthetic resins. It
passes from one to the other according to the need.

Mme Olivier Belanger. Sculptor. Woodcarver. Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec. Active 1950 – .

Mme Olivier Belanger’s Mark is found on  painted flat-plane figural Quebec carvings. They are signed with a stamp and the colour palette is bright and unlike the typical S.J.P.J. carvings – the colours are almost pastel and may be simply faded. More information is needed for this mark. Female carvers in SJPJ are rare. (See Mme Iriene Belanger.)
